PECO Race 5 Cancelled:
The Council have withdrawn permission to use Roundhay Park on Sunday due the waterlogged state of the ground. Therefore we have no alternative but to cancel the race.
The individual cumulative results will be calculated on the basis of ‘best 3 scores from the 4 completed races’.
The Relays And Junior Presentations will still take place on March 29th, subject to permission not being withdrawn.
Senior Presentations will take place on Friday March 27th as planned.

Juniors - School Years 4-6:      10.00am, 1.2 miles approx.
Juniors - School Years 7-12:    10.20am, 2.0 miles approx.
Seniors - Men & Ladies*:          11.00am, 4.4 miles approx.
*Aged 16 and over, based on age as at 24/11/19

Race Times & Distances:

Race Location:
All races will take place within the grounds of Roundhay Park. 3 miles N.E. of Leeds City Centre.  Race HQ is outside the visitor centre alongside Mansion Lane, LS8 2HH.

Registration will be adjacent to the Garden Café

Race start & finish all take place on the Park below Roundhay Mansion

Car Parking:
Parking is on street alongside Park Avenue / West Avenue & on grass, on Soldiers’ Field, accessed from West Avenue.
Refer to the course map – please use this rather than the public car parks and car share wherever possible.

Public Transport:
Bus routes – from Leeds City Centre

  • No 2 & 12 buses stop along Princes Ave.
  • No 13/13/A stop at the nearby junction of Roundhay Rd & Princes Ave.

Toilets:
Toilets are available adjacent to registration from 09.00

Polite Notice - It is absolutely essential that participants use the toilet facilities provided. Public urination at Roundhay Park is not acceptable and will seriously jeopardise future events at this location

In addition, there are toilets at the Lakeside Café which will be open at 10.00 – approx. 5 min walk (see course map).

Warming Up:
Refer to the course map – please be considerate and stay well clear of the junior runners who will be running on Soldiers’ Field between 10.00am and 10:40am.

The Courses:
The junior course is entirely on grass. The senior course is a mixture of grass, woodland trails and includes some short sections on concrete paths – which means that spikes are not advisable.

Please Note - Roundhay is a very popular park – there are likely to be many other park users around the course, including those attending the Junior parkrun @ 09:00.
 Please be aware of your surroundings, follow the course markings and listen for marshal instructions at all times. Headphones are strongly discouraged for these safety grounds.

Gazebos:
In the event of strong winds or gales the park have requested that Gazebos are not used. This will be advised early on race day. Notices will be posted around registration.

Post Race Social:
Venue: North Leeds Cricket Club, 60 Old Park Road, Leeds LS8 1JX
Less than 1/2 mile from race venue. Limited car park and street parking available.
Hot food and drinks, selection of cakes, wide selection of drinks at the cash only bar.
Please do not wear muddy footwear within the club.
